In this years’ Theater awards festival “Spēlmaņu Nakts” (“The Gambler’s Night”) a best new actress nominee Inita Dzelme was wearing an Eat Me Ink Me design!

I’m feeling nostalgic and went through my old Photobucket account and found some oooooooold pictures from when I dressed in Lolita. These are some of my fav coordinates. Since I made most of my clothes I ran out of time once I got out of college and just kinda moved away from it…

That’s so sad! You were obviously so good at it and just from these pictures it looks like you had a lot of fun. If those are dresses you made, you have a LOT of talent! I’m jealous!

Okay so I’ve been a fan of Lolita fashion for some time now. I’ve taken a good amount of time researching the topic, the clothing, the different style genre’s, the stores, ect., ect. I figured that now is a REALLY good time for me to start actually wearing Lolita clothing. Problem is, Im broke and not the “I-don’t-have-a-job” broke, more like the “I-go-to-school-and-have-a-budget” broke. ‘Cause I mean if I really wanted to I could buy two outfits right now.
But no. Besides Im VERY picky about how I want my very first Lolita dress to be. I have been a long time lover of the Classic Lolita and have even seen some go so far as to make Victorian Lolita styled gowns close to era accurate.
That’s what I want. As someone who is fascinated with the 1800’s I wanted to bring some of my favourite periods into my Lolita fashion. So this is what I did.
I use several idea helpers. First, the 1873 Polonaise and the Bustled Apron overskirt circa 1870’s/1880’s. The jacket was influenced by the 1881 dinner bodice and the 1883 Riding habit bodice. The dresses bodice was a mix of things I liked from a few times. Like the Belle Epoche 1893 Blouse, 1856 Gathered dress bodice, the 1830’s romantic era dress, and without a doubt the 1889 Low Bodice for gowns. Instead of using typical pleats I leaned towards ruffles for a more Lolita look.
I love muffs and ear muffs so that was definitely a must. A faux fur caplet for over the jacket. A Fascinator hat and tiny bows for effect! LOL Im so silly! The colour scheme Im going with is Green with tan’s/cremes, whites, and variant shades of yellow and gold. I want to put a lot of embroidery detail in it as well I just haven’t decided on a final design for it. WOO… [I need to get some white boots. hmmm..]
This is just the first of many designs and things I want to start working on soon for the winter. This one in particular I want to finish by AUSA for the formal dance.

I like the way it looks with the cravat in that bottom center picture especially.
